Jason Lives: Friday The 13th Part VI (1986)

The first two-thirds of Jason Lives places the emphasis on comedy over horror (immediately evident as Jason’s first appearance parodies the James Bond opening), and this entry winds up being funnier than any of the previous were scary. It also looks better than any of its predecessors, with comparatively masterful direction by Tom McGloughin, solid effects (an RV crashes spectacularly), and other indications of a bigger budget. The kills are outrageous, Jason is an unstoppable zombie, the performances are less egregiously awful, and the film is continually entertaining (despite the lack of nudity). A fun entry and probably the best of the series.
